What we work on

Five areas of work

They are designed to run together. Awareness leads into training, training into community action, and action into local leadership that keeps it going.

Environmental education and community awareness

Building environmental clubs in schools and running awareness campaigns with chiefs, youth and residents.

  • Establishing and strengthening environmental clubs in basic and senior high schools
  • Community awareness campaigns and dialogue sessions with chiefs, opinion leaders, youth and residents
  • Training students as environmental ambassadors

Climate change adaptation and nature-based solutions

Tree planting, forest and watershed restoration, and livelihoods that can hold up under a less predictable climate.

  • Community education on climate causes, impacts and adaptation strategies
  • Nature-based solutions: tree planting, forest restoration, watershed protection and biodiversity conservation
  • Training communities on ecosystem restoration

Sustainable agriculture and food security

Climate-smart farming, soil conservation and water-efficient practices for smallholder farmers.

  • Training farmers on climate-smart agricultural practices
  • Soil conservation, sustainable land management and rainwater harvesting
  • Support for cassava, vegetables, maize and other staple crops

Responsible mining and environmental restoration

Working with organized small-scale miners on land reclamation, water protection and pollution prevention.

  • Environmental awareness training for small-scale miners
  • Education on responsible mining practices and regulations for chiefs, local authorities and communities
  • Training on land restoration and reclamation

Research, innovation and professional environmental training

Environmental research, technical services and professional training for institutions and businesses.

  • Environmental research and community-based assessments
  • Professional training workshops and environmental monitoring support
  • Technical services: environmental management, sustainability, climate resilience and occupational environmental safety

ACEPS is in Phase 1. The programmes described across this site are what the organisation is set up to deliver; they are not a record of work already completed.

Work with ACEPS

Whether you want to bring a programme to your school or community, partner on restoration work, or commission training, it starts with a conversation.
